Bay leaves, or tej patta in Hindi, are a quintessential ingredient in Indian cuisine, adding a subtle depth of flavour to curries, biryanis, and soups. These leaves, sourced from the Indian laurel tree, impart a warm, slightly herbal note that complements the rich and diverse flavours of Indian cooking.

🍽️ How to use:
Drop 1 or 2 dried leaves into hot oil or ghee at the start of cooking to release their flavour. They work great in biryanis, rice dishes, and curries. The leaves slowly release their warm, slightly spicy taste as your food cooks. Just remember to fish them out before serving, as they're too tough to eat. Most Indian cooks add them right at the beginning along with whole spices like cardamom and cinnamon for the fullest flavour.

All of our spices and blends are imported from ethically and quality-tested suppliers in India. We've made sure to thoroughly test each spice to ensure you always receive superior and authentic quality.

How long do your spices last?

Over time, spices can lose their flavour and colour as the volatile oils that give them their aroma and taste evaporate. For best results, we recommend using our spices within 6 months to a year. If your spices are past this time frame, they are still safe to use, but you may need to use a larger quantity to achieve the same flavour intensity.

How are the spices packed?

We carefully pack the spices in either glass jars or resealable pouches, your choice! It you opt for the glass jar, we'll swaddle it in bubble wrap to ensure it arrives at your doorstep safe and sound. We offer fast and reliable shipping options, so your favourite spices will reach you in no time, wherever you are in Australia.

What is your return and refund policy for the spices?

If you're not happy with your spices, please contact us and we'll make it right.
